Xeex Bi Du Jeex – A Luta Continua, is a theatre play performance and a film resulting from a workshop held in 2018 in Dakar with Bouba Touré, Raphaël Grisey and Kàddu Yaraax. The workshop consisted of conversations with Bouba Touré around the archives of the cooperative of Somankidi Coura, followed by improvisations with methods from the Theatre of the Oppressed. A research trip took place in the gardens of Deni Biram Ndao, a village near Dakar facing drought, salinization and land speculation, to listen to the conditions of the the inhabitants, the peasant workers and their land. A collective writing session led to an assemblage for a script and the writing of two specific scenes in the form of Forum Theatre. The resulting play was premiered at the Cultural Centre Hann Bel-Air, in the Forum Theatre Festival Kàddu Yaraax in Dakar, and in the gardens of Deni Biram Ndao in May and July 2018. The gardens eventually became the set for the film.
